Hey guys, good news. We have a fairly big release of information regarding Aliens: Colonial Marines including a release date window, a new screenshot, a teaser trailer, and some definitive information about gameplay elements.

First off, here's the new screenshot which looks amazing:

THEY'RE COMING OUT OF THE WALLS

The teaser does not show much, but it does give us a bit of insight into the setting of the game. It supposedly takes place after the events of Aliens and features a group of marines investigating the Sulaco, from what I understand. This contradicts previous statements that the game will take place after Alien 3. Either way, it is being positioned as a true sequel to Aliens and will feature a full narrative with several missions.

The information was a bit scarce about whether it would be co-op or not, and now it has been confirmed that the game will feature up to four player co-op for the entire campaign. Not only that, but your character can be upgraded and outfitted with various weapons and equipment in the Aliens universe.

Here's the teaser trailer released today:

Lastly, SEGA has confirmed that Aliens: Colonial Marines will release in the spring of 2012. Also, the game will be featured at the E3 expo next week, so keep an eye out here for more news.

Thanks goes to Gareth for the heads up.
