In very few cases do two completely different franchises mix so well. While crossover franchises have worked in the past, none feel as natural as Aliens vs. Predator. These two blockbuster franchises first appeared with each-other in a comic book in 1989. Only a year later, Predator 2 was released with an Alien cameo towards the end. The famous trophy rack scene, in which an Alien skull can be seen, paved the way for these two monsters to appear in the same film.

While the movies have been mostly panned by everyone, it is at least interesting to see how these films were made and to see what (arguably) went wrong. Their film marriage was rough, but everywhere else Aliens vs. Predator fits pretty well. Did the movies have potential? Could they have been better?
