Wow. I mean yeah I know it does not show much in terms of plot, but that trailer is heavy on atmosphere. I love it. Bonus points to those who can pick out the Space Jockey pilot seat in the trailer . Oh, and secondary points go to those who spot the derelict.

Hey all, got some delayed news for ya regarding the not-quite-prequel-but-totally-still-is-a-prequel to Alien, Prometheus!

At Comic-con this year, the team behind the new film held a panel and showed off a teaser trailer. Well, unfortunately that trailer is not online. But our vary own Gareth got access to a bunch of awesome screen-grabs of the teaser. Check it out below!

Apparently the news regarding Prometheus has not slowed down even a bit.

Firstly, a little while ago Charlize Theron (previously rumored to be a contender for the leading role) has been announced to be a supporting role in the film. While interesting, it certainly isn't as crazy as the news since then.

As you can see, Shreav has reported that Micheal Fassbender has stated that the film does take place in the Alien universe.

But for the best news?

Firstly, I'll start this off with the report that Michael Fassbender (Inglorious Basterds, 300) has been announced to play an android character in the new Scott film, Prometheus, which evolved from the Alien Prequel project.

But things get weirder.

The same site, Sky Movies, is reporting that a source has told them that "not only are HR Giger's classic aliens in it, but that they're integral to the plot."

Sources are indicating that the Alien Prequel project Ridley Scott has been working on for some time is now dead, and instead has transformed into something more "original".

Supposedly, the project slowly evolved into a new idea unrelated to Alien but will still use the script written by Lindelof with some changes. It is now a film being called Prometheus. Sorry fans, it looks like we wont get to see the Alien series possibly saved from mediocrity.
